Thami aka Mbongo is a South African actor, drama facilitator, writer-director and arts activist. He took Theatre Studies & Cultural Studies at the Community Arts Project (CAP) and then graduated from UCT Drama Department in 2001. From 2010 -2017, Thami was the Zabalaza Artistic Director at the Baxter Theatre Centre. In 2008 he won the Brett Goldin Bursary award and spent some time at the Royal Shakespeare Company in London. Later he toured around the UK with the Baxter Theatre Centre/RSC production of THE TEMPEST alongside Sir Antony Sher & Dr John Kani. Thami has been seen in a number of South African television productions.
