Conseil des Arts de Montréal en tournée program presents the remount of Scapegoat Carnivale's award-winning play. Previously presented by Montreal Arts Interculturel with support from the National Arts Centre’s Collaborations program.

The Original Production was performed March 14-24, 2019 and was supported by the Cole Foundation, Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des Arts et des lettres de Québec, Conseil des arts de Montréal. Yev was first developed as part of Infinitheatre's Playwright Unit.

Yev is a hermit living in a remote region of the Northern Taiga, the sole survivor of a family who fled civilization for fear of religious persecution. Mathew, a biology student, curious about her solitary life, begins to transmit letters to her. As their relationship deepens, Mathew discovers that Yev is not entirely alone. Complications between Yev and her possessive neighbour, a retired geologist, reveal another version of her life story. Through complex storytelling and multiple perspectives, the play slowly unearths the truth of these secluded relationships. TRIGGER WARNING: Domestic violence  sexuality.
